Responsibilities: Large format environmental installation
Client: Diageo, Baileys
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, pen & paper
Diageo and Baileys were holding a special promotion in the duty-free stores of Pearson International Airport, and wanted to craft a unique customer experience with a large environmental installation – an exotic getaway in the midst of an otherwise bustling and crowded airport. The tropical, tiki-inspired elements made for a visually striking and engaging impression from afar, and customers found the same theme would lead them throughout the store, from one point of interest to another. Different promotions and samples were offered as you followed the installation.
Process and Iteration
Working with the pre-existing brand guidelines from multiple, different product types, and combining them with a completely new and bold concept was quite the challenge with this installation. It also required a variety of complex, 3d forms to be wrapped with detailed vinyl designs, some of which were completely transparent, and others lit up from inside. All of this required close collaboration with the clients, the print vendor and the location owners to ensure the installation was smooth, and the concept felt strong and consistent throughout the environment.
